Our Story
Meet us
We are the Budden's - Jason, Liz and our daughters, Kelsey, Sophie and Emmy.
We’re the farmers - the hands and the hearts behind Budden Family Beef.
Jason is a fifth-generation farmer on Glenroy, our property located North-East of Chinchilla in Queensland’s Darling Downs.

The 5th generation is proudly at the helm.
Jason oversees the cattle, fencing, and everything in between.
Liz ensures the orders run smoothly and the books stay balanced.

Just as handy at herding calves as they are at sneaking biscuits from the smoko table.
Where it all began
Jason's great-great-grandparents, William and Eva Budden, settled to the Pelican district in 1906. Their family journeyed from Singleton in Central New South Wales, driving their dairy herd along the way. They sold milk to local towns and workers they met during their journey, and once settled, began a mixed-farming enterprise - producing dairy, beef, pork, lamb, and wool.

Over the decades, each generation - Dick, Roy, Colin, and now Jason, grazed Glenroy to support their families.
As the years passed, the focus shifted to what we do best: producing premium beef cattle.

Jason’s own journey began early. Growing up on the property, he developed a passion for cattle and farming. By primary school, he’d convinced his father to lease him land for his own small breeding herd, paying “rent” through hours worked on the farm. That determination set the tone for his lifelong commitment to producing exceptional beef.
Budden Family Beef was born from our passion for sustainable, ethical, nose-to tail eating — closing the gap between farmer and consumer, and making premium beef more accessible from our paddock to your plate.
When families gather around their table to share our beef, we hope it sparks conversations about where their food comes from, how it’s raised, and the care poured into every cut.

Today, we work side by side — Jason managing the cattle and property, Liz running the orders and logistics — with our three girls helping wherever they can.
Whether it’s checking fences, feeding the chooks or learning about low-stress cattle handling, they’re building a deep respect for the land, the animals, and the work it takes to feed families.
When you choose Budden Family Beef, you’re supporting a proudly Australian, family-owned and operated farm — committed to regenerating our land, protecting our environment, and producing ethical, healthy, and delicious beef you can serve with confidence.
The journey continues . . .
